(Y.B.A) Not so fast Damian Hirst and tracey emin
Young british Artists, like Tracey Emin ans Damian Hirst born in the 1960's were in the 1980's artists who were recognized by Charles Sattchi. Tracey Emin and Damian 's Work is conceptually based.
Both are stagy and have found themselves into great collections of art across the world.
As a movement the Young British Artists brought this conceptual stagy realization to all corners of the world.
1995 show called "Brilliant!" paved the way for the artists it included to show in U.S.A at the Walker Art Center whoes today features a dynamic art collection of 11,0000 objects.
Walker Art Center is considered on of the "Big 5" contemporary art centers including MoMa, San Franscisco Musuem of Art and Hirshorn.
Walker Art Center founded in 1879 by lumberman Thomas Barlow Walker became a major museum center and gave exposure to artists such as Joseph Cornell, Frank Gehry and Kara Walker. After 1958 the museum paved the way for artists like Jasper Johns and other "Alternative Modernism's".
The Young British Artist 1995 show "Brilliant!"was on view here (22 October, 1995 and 7 January, 1996) Curated by Richard Flood.
Damian Hirst and Tracey Emin were featured among the artists represented in this world class show.
the other artists now are all among major collections around the world.
Both artists work in multi-media and create a sort of introspective homage to contemporary life. They are among the largest artistic tour de force of our time and have moved into restaurateur in the case of Hirst and global branding.
"In August 2006 the British Council announced that they had chosen Emin to produce a show of new and past works for the British Pavilion at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007. Emin was the second woman to produce a solo show for the UK at the Biennale, following Rachel Whiteread in 1997."
She is extensivly collected in the Goss-Michael Foundation, founded by George Michael and Kenny Gross located in Dallas, Texas.
Here are some of the major productions by Hirst and Emin in Major Collections of Art:
